Also a Georgia (near Brunswick) transplant to Paris and hope to cross paths with Cedric soon! Striving to honor the memory of Ahmaud Arbery in all that I do.

This is a terrific series. Some of what Cedric said is so much the same for me in Türkiye.

The pace of life he alludes to really resonates with me. We recently moved from DC to the Hudson Valley and have been so happy. We are splitting time here in a new apartment we bought and being here a month now has showed me similarities and differences with upstate NY. It’s a slower pace but still diff here. I find the pull here more and more

Really enjoying this series ! Wonderful to "meet" others ( if only virtually) who have taken the leap. My husband and are hoping/ planning to move within 5 years. As fellow veterans, we wholeheartedly concur with the dismay Cedric feels. Though we are a white hetero couple, we both strongly believe that the freedom we protected were for ALL. Not the privileged rich and powerful only. I wish you both all the best in the new year. May you both enjoy this season with those you love. May the new year bring you joy, health and peace. ❤️❤️🫶🏻🫶🏻 Bonne année.

Thank you for the link to the "James Baldwin in Paris" video. I love listening/watching that amazing creative person who saw the world so clearly.

I am really enjoying this series! As someone who is very seriously trying to figure out how to move to Italy (part time at the very least), I find the interviews encouraging and give me more confidence to keep pursuing this dream. So much of what Cedric said deeply resonates with me.

I can absolutely identify with what he says about the freedom to just be a person here without the weight of my race. Great interview and I love how Cedric expresses himself. Love having him here. 😍

Love this series so much!! It’s always energizing reading the motivations and desires of someone’s decision to immigrate. Can’t wait to keep reading

Cedric thank you for this! I’ve lived apart from my family for four years now and only when I moved to Italy did it become more painful.

I also fell in love with James Baldwin this year. His short story “Sonny’s Blues” is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read.

I struggle with Italian too! You have to be a bit nuts and have no shame to learn a foreign language! Bisous de Naples 🌋🍕
