Loved this interview, and would be very interested to read Monique El-Faizy’s book “In This Dark Room: Secrets, Shame, and Reckoning at a French Trial” when it’s released !

Loved this interview. Monique is a woman after my own heart, with many similarities in our stories. I envy her driver's license experience: I had a New York State license and, after driving for some 50 years, had to do the 20 hours of practical driving training and take the French written and driver's test. €900 later, I did pass and get my French license, but what a ridiculous ordeal.

RIDICULOUS! Still the most unnecessarily stressful experience I’ve had in France to date. (And yes, Monique is a joy!)
