On shopping in Paris, Part II
Interiors & home goods edition
Some people have a book-buying addiction (c’est moi, hi!), some are fashion-obsessed, and others go nuts for home goods, kitchen trinkets, and decor. I’m not even going to begin to tackle the more niche fascinations like stickers, beanies, concert tees, and cat and dog memorabilia, all of which I find intriguing from a collecting point of view. But following my shopping in Paris ruminations last month (you can catch up on that below), I’m back with the spots I’ve emptied my wallet most and / or would recommend if you’re more interested in interiors.
Funny thing happened, though: I went to start writing this and realized I had already sent a newsletter in 2023 with my recommendations. I still stand by the selection, give or take a couple that I’ve since removed and two others that closed in the last year. SO, to avoid reinventing the wheel, I’m sharing the updated post below which includes a few new additions:
The Top III, Paris home edition
My obsession with making the home a reassuring and comfortable cocoon started long before Covid forced us all to look at our personal spaces in a new light. But it really ramped up when my husband and I did a V.A.T.— very adult thing — and bought a house nearly two hours from Paris (another mid-Covid life decision). You know when your home owning friends and family issue snarky wishes of good luck because they know how much work the endeavor entails and try to warn you and you laugh it off? Yeah, that’s about where we are. And that’s without any need for renovation!
