I’ve got heaps of news stories I want to share, new recommendations, and new interviews but first I need to bring this new book into the world! I’m really excited to share that the Red Wheelbarrow bookstore will be hosting the launch of my latest book, The Eater Guide to Paris, and the incredibly talented, inspiring and generous author-baker
will moderate a talk with me, too. Will you join us?It all happens next Tuesday, 19:00 p.m. copies of the book will be available to purchase (and Dorie’s books are in stock, too!) and if all goes to plan, there will be some tasty snacks for the signing portion of the evening.
The team at the bookstore can pack in a whole lot of people for these talks but I’d advise you to come right at 19:00 to secure a spot.
There’s so much to highlight in this book, I almost don’t know where to begin! But I suppose I just have to dive right in and the rest will unfold as it needs to. If there is something book-related you’re curious about, drop me a note in the comments or ask me next week if you can attend the event.
Back to regularly scheduled programming soon— merci merci!
What people are saying about the book ☺️
Merci Eater and Lindsey and three cheers for all of us who love Paris! This new guide is a marvel. Of course, we all want the restaurant recommendations, but the Guide is so much more. It’s almost as though it’s two books tucked into one. Between the lists and descriptions of restaurants of every kind, of markets, patisseries, and shops, is collection of revelatory stories about food in the city. Whether you’re a veteran of the Paris food scene, a first-time visitor or a Paris dreamer, I’m betting you’ll be as fascinated as I was to read about the history of pastry in the city and how it’s changing, the evolution of natural wine, the way to spend a perfect 24 hours in town or the etiquette of dining in Paris. And don’t miss the Spotlights. Really, don’t miss any of it.

I often refer to Eater’s lists for traveling near and far, and this guide to Paris is a beautiful and thorough illustration of an incredible food destination. It reminds me just how vast, diverse, and eclectic the city is now, with not just classic French staples and decades-old tried-and-true standbys, but modern spots dotting all throughout town helmed by talented young chefs from all over the world. I spent many years in my early career as a pastry chef in Paris, and this guide reminds me of many memories and makes me want to book a flight back and plan my eating itinerary straight away.
—Dominique Ansel, chef/owner, Dominique Ansel Bakery & Workshop
Over the last five years, I’ve had the good fortune to travel to Paris many times. In the city of light, art, history and all things food and wine, visiting can be overwhelming, especially when you don’t speak the language. This book is an insider's guide on how to move around Paris like a pro. Between the brief food histories on each unique arrondissement, tips on getting a seat at a table, shopping for ingredients, day trips, and where to eat to get a taste of home, The Eater Guide to Paris is a must-have and will make your next trip to Paris unforgettable.
