Over the course of the last year, I’ve hinted that I was working on a beast of a project that involved a lot of dining out, a lot of research, and a lot of list-juggling. I couldn’t go into specifics but that changes now.
Since the fall of 2023 I’ve been writing another book! This one is a collaboration with Eater, the American food culture and dining publication that I have contributed to for many many years. The Eater Guide to Paris is overflowing with ideas, recommendations, maps, and insights from some truly brilliant local tastemakers. Illustrations from start to finish were contributed by Alice Des, a super talented Parisian artist.
The format follows the structure established by the Eater team in their first two city dining compendiums to New York and Los Angeles and goes far beyond a simple guide to include historical and cultural context (my favorite section to work on!), thematic deep dives (Sandwiches ! Pastry! Southeast Asian cuisine!), itineraries for getting out of the city for a weekend, and a very fun 24 hours in Paris that answered the brief: what if you were to eat and drink from morning to night, without sleeping (or, presumably, feeling full)?
I’m working on organizing a launch event in Paris (stay tuned) on or around April 29 and will have plenty of recommendations to share with paid subscribers here that didn’t make the book’s Final Cut, but until then, I’d love for you to pre-order!
Preorders actually signal to retailers of all sizes that there’s interest in a book and motivates them to stock them. Sometimes a lot of them!
There are plenty of booksellers you can pre-order from (linked below) BUT if you want to take advantage of 40% off, order a copy directly from my publisher Abrams using the code EATERBOOKS40.
Other places to order:
Bookshop.org (which supports indies)
Amazon US / UK (if you must but I’d direct you to one of the above !)
I can’t wait to share more!
🥳🥳🥳
So exciting! Congratulations, Lindsey!
